Green Territory - Selection Info Panel


Howdy everyone!

It’s been a while since I shared some progress on the game, so here we go.

I’ve added a selection info panel to the bottom of the screen. Now you can select individual buildings and resource points to inspect some detailed info about them, like current capacities, health or energy levels.

The panel also automatically opens and focuses on a currently constructed building, showing construction progress (don’t mind weird bar colors, it’s just GIF compression artifacts).

The panel allows enabling buildings’ repair mode in which the building is gradually restoring health by requesting and using metal resources from the network. I’m still in the middle of figuring out exact speeds and costs of deterioration/repair, so this part might change a lot in the future.

And finally, the panel also allows to deconstruct buildings you no longer need. All resources stored in the building will be sent to the free storages across the network, in addition to some percentage of resources spent on constructing the building in the first place.


At this point it feels like I’m really close to finally start implementing the rest of the building types and start fleshing out actual gameplay. But as it often goes in gamedev, perceived amount of work is actually only 10% of what is actually needs to be done. So we are still ions away from being complete :)
